Brand new in 2022 and for the first time in Scottsdale\u2019s Polo Party history, a former National Hockey League star will saddle up and hit the grass to play polo and what is often called \u201cHockey on Horseback.\u201d Former Arizona Coyotes Captain and legend #19 Shane Doan will turn in his skates for riding boots, a hockey stick for a mallet, and the puck for a polo ball to try his hand at polo.

A longtime equestrian enthusiast, Doan will spend the fall months training and learning how to play the beautiful sport under the guidance of the Arizona Polo Club so that Doan can represent and join the local club on the field when The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships returns on November 5th.<\/p>\n

Doan will be one of several new players and elements for this year. Among the polo teams to play in 2022 \u2013 the United Kingdoms\u2019 Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club and Wales Polo Team, Aspen Valley Polo Club, USA Women\u2019s Team, Switzerland Polo Club, EPR Polo, El Paso – Naranjo and Arizona Polo Club.<\/p>\n
